Meghan Markle became part of the Royal Family when she married Prince Harry, 34, in May 2018.  Just months later, the couple revealed they were expecting their first child and the royal baby was born last week.  During her pregnancy, Meghan was often spotted out in pricey designer outfits and wore 77 different outfits during her pregnancy.  As well as a luxurious designer wardrobe, the Duchess splashed the cash designing Archie’s nursery and at pricey baby shower, setting her back by £835,910 during the pregnancy, according the Lovethesales.com.

What did Meghan buy?

The Duchess of Sussex often chose to wear high-end outfits during her pregnancy, and spent an estimated £489,000 on her clothes.

For her most expensive look, Meghan wore an Oscar de la Renta monochrome dress to the Geographic Society Awards in October, costing a staggering £10,490.

As part of her 16-day tour across Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand in October, Meghan wore some costly jewellery including Birks sapphire and diamond earrings, £12,000, Butani diamond drop earrings, £21,326, and Princess Diana’s aquamarine ring, £74,893.

On top of her extravagant wardrobe, Meghan also forked out an estimated £49,000 to have the nursery renovated at Frogmore Cottage.

She is believed to have fitted an eco-friendly nursery and installed new heating, water and electricity as well green energy units.

In the run up to Archie’s birth, Meghan spent her money on some luxury trips.

She attended a baby shower in New York which included a trip to the pricey Polo Bar, luxury gifts and expensive accommodation at The Mark Hotel.

Including funding her security over the 6-day trip, the baby shower wracked up a total bill of roughly £153,000.

Meghan reportedly headed to her baby shower on a private jet which cost £96,000, although it is believed her friends footed the bill for some of these costs.

Meghan and Harry also reportedly spent £33,000 on a luxury babymoon as they made the trip to the luxury Heckfield Palace in Hampshire at the start of April.

The Duke and Duchess were thought to choose the American-run Portland Hospital in London for the birth.

Inside the luxury maternity ward, the base birthing package costs around £14,000, adding to her huge total spend.

Meghan Markle has been known to break royal protocol and it is thought she could ditch getting a nanny and instead co-sleep with her new son

Prince Harry’s cousin, Princess Eugenie, 29, gushed over the new baby by posting a picture of Harry and Meghan on Instagram.
